Administration Denounces 'Democrat Hoax' as Further Jeffrey Epstein Images Made Public
Democratic lawmakers have published a new tranche of what they labeled "troubling" photographs from the property of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, depicting among others Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, and former British royal Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
The opening batch of 19 images—some of which have been seen before—combined with another 70 issued later on Friday constitute a small number of the nearly 100,000 images handed over to the House investigative panel, which is probing the conduct and connections of Epstein.
The shamed investor was a victim of apparent suicide in a New York detention cell in 2019 after being accused of sex-trafficking charges.
Prominent Personalities in the Photos
Among the high-profile individuals shown in the opening set are well-known figures such as movie maker Woody Allen; Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates; and Richard Branson, founder of the Virgin business group.
Donald Trump is featured in three of the first nineteen images. In one, he is pictured with six women, whose faces are obscured.
White House Reaction
The White House addressed the release in a statement, accusing Democrats of selectively "cherry-picking" the images for political purposes and to "seek to establish a false storyline."
"That partisan falsehood against President Trump has been consistently disproven," an administration official remarked, maintaining that "this presidency has achieved more for Epstein's survivors than Democrats have at any point by repeatedly calling for transparency, releasing thousands of pages of records, and demanding additional probes into Epstein's Democratic associates."
Congressional Democrat Statement
The photographs were disclosed devoid of explanation, but according to a Democratic representative from California and ranking member of the investigative panel, they prompt further inquiries about Epstein's links with the rich and powerful.
"The moment has come to stop this White House cover-up and secure justice to the victims of Jeffrey Epstein and his well-connected allies," he stated in a release.
The disclosure of these documents coincides with the oversight committee proceeding with its investigation into the Epstein case.
