British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Fatal Car Crash
Olympic gold medalist Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, local government spokespeople announced on late Wednesday. The fighter was involved in a car accident near Lagos on the 29th of December, a tragic incident that took the lives of two of his valued colleagues.
Healing from Light Wounds
The boxer had been under observation while recovering from minor injuries, representatives had said on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, announced via a post on X that Joshua was judged healthy enough to leave and heal privately.
“Anthony and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to say their last goodbyes to his two deceased friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” Omotosho said.
Remembering the Victims
The two men who died were named as Latif Ayodele, a fitness coach, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. It was also noted that the athlete was heartbroken and overcome with emotion over the loss of his two trusted companions.”
His release from the hospital comes as the sports world shared sympathy for the star in the wake of the heartbreaking incident.
