British Ticket-Holder Claims £26m European Lottery Top Prize

Lottery Ticket Jackpot Payout

An individual UK participant has secured the £26m Euro Millions top prize, lottery officials have confirmed.

The lucky combination selected on Friday night were 06, 12, 18, 25 and 41, with the Star numbers 02 and 06.

This marks the third EuroMillions top prize secured in the Britain so far this year out of the ten held so far.

At the start of the year, an individual won £83m, subsequently a sixty-five million pound Valentine's prize. Each victor opted to stay anonymous.

However, the winner of last Saturday's £10.6m National Lottery jackpot has still not appeared.

A senior winners' adviser advised participants to spend some time to check their tickets and emails.

The winning Lotto numbers for last Saturday were: 06, 08, 12, 33, 49, 59 and the extra ball was 42.

"We will be on hand to offer support and offer access to specialists who can help winners optimize the prize for them and those close to them," the representative commented.

The EuroMillions win will be checked against the lottery regulations, and after confirmation, the jackpot recipient will choose whether to announce themselves.

Even with making them a multi-millionaire, the recent win of £26m does not put the winner among EuroMillions' largest-ever jackpot winners.

A prize of over £183 million would have been necessary to get a spot in the premier rankings of largest wins.

The biggest prize claimed by a UK player is £195 million in 2022, according to EuroMillions.

Even though it is challenging to hit the prize, it is more common than many think to miss out on the winnings.

One participant missed out on a one million pound win recently after not claiming a EuroMillions win within the 180 day time limit, meaning the funds was redirected to good causes supported by the lottery.

The largest EuroMillions jackpot to remain unclaimed in the United Kingdom was £63.8 million in June 2012.

The EuroMillions draw is takes place every twice weekly across nine nations in Europe.
