Iran's military claims to have hit a US naval base in Manama, as the country executed missile attacks across the region in response for a significant and continuing assault targeting the nation by the US and Israel.

Huge plumes of black smoke were seen rising from an area in the area of the command center of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The extent of any destruction is unclear and the United States has not commented.

Regional Interceptions

Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - which all house American military installations - stated they have shot down incoming projectiles in their airspace.

In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry said it had intercepted several missiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the largest American base in the region.

Iran's Declared Retaliation

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was attacking US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the strikes on Iran carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.

That initial attack - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck locations linked to the Iranian leadership, with President Trump urging the people of Iran to revolt against the leadership.

Additional Developments

In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israeli military stated it had detected an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates stated that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"UAE air defence systems engaged the missiles with notable success and destroyed a number of missiles," it added.

The statement noted debris fell on a populated district in the capital, resulting in some structural damage and killing a civilian.

The US Air Force is stationed at Al Dhafra Air Base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
