The City of Angels witnessed citywide celebrations after the Los Angeles Dodgers clinched a thrilling seven-match World Series championship. Supporters across the globe joined Angelenos in jubilation, marking the initial time in 25 years that a team has secured back-to-back championships.
Victory Parade Attracts Enormous Crowds
Los Angeles area celebrations included a procession through the city center on Monday morning, a ticketed rally at the team's home stadium, and spontaneous parties across the city.
Social media videos show thousands of Los Angeles residents packing city center avenues, many carrying homemade signs and team flags. The squad was seen traveling proudly on a double-decker bus through the masses, raising the championship trophy high.
“My focus is already about the third time we’re going to achieve this,” Shohei Ohtani remarked through an interpreter.
The parade route ended at the stadium, where the players emerged to the rapper’s “Not Like Us,” with DJ Mustard spinning music and Ice Cube cruising a light blue classic car around the field.
Early Celebrations and Athlete Responses
Celebrations began prior to the parade, with supporters setting off flares in the streets of the city center on Sunday night.
The World Series MVP, awarded the MVP of the championship, spoke directly about the win.
“Losing is not an option,” he said. “I love the Dodgers. This city means everything to me.”

However, Mark Walter was met with a less warm reception at the celebration. Video footage from the gathering appear to show Walter walking onstage to a mix of applause and jeers, with jeers punctuating his speech.
The World Series served as a positive moment in what has been a trying year for the city. An approximate quarter-million people attended to the championship parade last year, and according to Dodgers player Freddie Freeman, supporters this year showed equal or greater enthusiasm.
“I feel like it’s almost double from last year,” Freeman remarked. “The supporters are incredible. It’s so awesome to be a involved in this.”
