He grins as he points the camera on his person and his companion fighters, their Rapid Support Forces insignia clearly shown: "These people shall all be killed like this."
The men are celebrating a atrocity that humanitarian officials suspect claimed the lives of in excess of two thousand people in the African city of el-Fasher last month.
An Urban Center Cut Off from the Globe
After maintaining the city under encirclement for approximately 24 months, from the summer the RSF proceeded to strengthen its position and blockade the remaining inhabitants.
Satellite images show that fighters began to construct a massive earth barrier - a raised earthen wall - around the perimeter of the city, sealing off roads and blocking humanitarian assistance.
While the blockade worsened, seventy-eight civilians were killed in an paramilitary attack on a mosque on 19 September, while the UN reported 53 additional were murdered in drone and cannon strikes on a makeshift community in fall.

An elderly person dressed in a traditional garment was seated by himself surrounded by the corpses. He rotated to glance as a militiaman equipped with a rifle moved down the stairs towards him. pointing his weapon, the shooter released a solitary bullet at the victim, who dropped to the ground still.
"Why is this individual still breathing," another militiaman exclaimed. "Execute this one."
Space-based imagery taken on late October appeared to confirm that shootings were also carried out on the streets of al-Fashir, based on a analysis published by the Yale Humanitarian Research Lab.
A key observer who provided testimony stated they had witnessed "multiple of our family members being massacred - they were collected in a single location and everyone murdered."
RSF Officers Seek to Implement Damage Control
During the period that followed the killings, militia commander conceded that his fighters had perpetrated "atrocities" and said the occurrences would be examined.
Among those arrested was after a investigation documenting his murders. Deliberately staged and modified footage published on the RSF's authorized messaging account show the individual being led into a detention area at a detention facility on the outskirts of the city.
Meanwhile, the paramilitary force and affiliated social media accounts began attempting to reframe the story.
Posts showing its militiamen handing out aid to residents were circulated by several accounts, while the force's communications team released numerous videos allegedly to demonstrate the compassionate management of army detainees.
Regardless of the digital effort being employed by the militia, their conduct in el-Fasher have sparked global outrage.
