Best-selling children's author and entertainer David Walliams is no longer with his longtime publishing house, as confirmed by the firm.

A spokesman for the company said: "After careful consideration, and following the appointment of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing any new titles by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the move was taken subsequent to an review of allegations of questionable actions directed at female individuals.

The firm has not elaborated on the motivations for this action, adding: "It is not our policy to discuss internal matters."

A Prolific Publishing History

Walliams stands as a most prolific writers for young readers, with sales exceeding over six tens of millions of copies internationally in 55 languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, came out under HarperCollins back in 2008.

A number of his books, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into television films.

To date, he has released over four dozen titles altogether, encompassing a festive story named *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins in October.

A Dual Career

His initial claim to fame came on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has been honored with National Television Awards for his work as a judge on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE back in 2017 in recognition of his work for charity and the arts.

The publisher's decision comes after the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss in October.
