The New Animated Series' Introductory Sequence Chose the Wrong Critical Role Song

The Mighty Nein, the newest animated series from Critical Role, revealed a new opening credits. It features our favorite cast of misfits, outcasts, and rogues fighting hard and making their mark, while teasing at several heart-wrenching backstories for key figures such as the voice actor's wizard Caleb, and Travis Willingham's warlock orc, Fjord.

Overall, the intro looks amazing. However, I felt that an element was missing in the song choice.

The intro uses "Welcome to Wildemount", a truly stellar composition created by artist Colm McGuinness. It's a track originating from the official score of that title, the second release put out by Critical Role Productions LLC's record label Scanlan Shorthalt Music. It's a great sentimental option, and I suspect that devotees of the sequel series will love its presence.

But for me, The series' intro doesn't quite capture the excitement and excitement that was part of the show's live-play sessions. "It's Your Turn", composed by musician the artist, became an immediate hit for me when it was first revealed in 2015, and it improved further when cast member the performer wrote words to the melody for the series' animated intro in the later year.

Featuring vocals from one actress, Laura Bailey, Travis Willingham, as well as Riegel himself, the track was catchy and enjoyable. Back then, I hadn't seen the follow-up series at that point, but it was so infectious that I kept it on my device. This track that knows how to get you pumped before you dive into an episode of adventurous fun.

The show's opening with "Welcome to Wildemount" fails to hit the right notes for me. It's an impressive piece of music, but from what I know of the group, I feel that its tone is somewhat mismatched.

Of course, Critical Role has stated that the animated show will have a few changes and variations from the actual-play campaign. An adjusted mood for its opening appears as among these.

This animated adventure will be available to watch on Prime Video from Nov. 19. If you can't wait before that, or want a head start to learn about the characters of the second series, the original episodes are accessible on the audio platform and the video site.
